Regarding the pro version, will it be only available on the android market? I am from Singapore and the google market for paid applications is still unavailable. Interested to get the pro version when it is made available

    • May 23, 2010 at 12:42 pm

Currently, there is no plan to publish pro version outside android market.
      Sorry about that.

Hi, i was trying to use this app but i couldn’t for some reason it wont let me sign in, just to let u know of this bug, mi pass its tricky and with special character so i think that is the problem, with the other apps dont problem though

    • May 23, 2010 at 12:43 pm

Thanks for the reporting. Next release would fix that issue.

Hi! Will there be any ‘no pic’-function or have I just missed it? Cause know the pic remains even if I log in with another account. =)

    • May 27, 2010 at 7:13 am

That’s good idea I think. Pictures and sending/receiving contacts’s profile pics are very expensive operations on battery as well as phone’s memory.
I’ll put the option ‘No pictures, Please’ into SignIn screen soon.

      Thanks for the great feedback.

    • May 27, 2010 at 7:16 am

There were numerous bugs on Version 2 of MSN Talk.
Current version (v2.08) have many bug fixes. Please try to download a new version.

However, MSN Talk v2, it requires SD-Card on your phone. (not to hesitate phone’s ROM)

      Thanks for the positive feedback.

Hi, I tried to use multi-location sign in with 2.05 and 2.11, and didnt work.

Simply disconnect the WLM in my computer.

    • May 27, 2010 at 8:54 pm

Multi-Location Sign in (official name is Multiple Points Of Presence) feature was introduced in WLM 2009 Beta and Final. Previous versions of WLM don’t support it.

      Thanks for the feedback.

I neither can’t login. My guess is because of my password. 20 chars and a lot of non-alphanumeric ones. Can that be the issue? I have this issue on all msn apps on android. I’m using an HTC Magic btw

Hey, just started using this msn client and really great work… Im wondering if it’s possible to buy the pro version some how, seeing how denmark doesn’t have access to the paid apps on market yet.

    • June 6, 2010 at 9:41 pm

      Sorry for such inconvenience.
I have a plan to build a site which can purchase pro version using PayPal.
It may be released at first week in July.

      Thanks for the feedback.

    Hi there,

I’ve been using your app for a while now, and its an awesome app. However, since the latest update, my battery performance tanked from lasting me two days to not even lasting until lunch today… Nothing else about my device has changed since yesterday besides your app, maybe theres an issue here?

First i have to say this app is awesome and i plan to buy the Pro (sent you an email regarding my problem wit Android Market).
    Just one suggestions for now:
    – I sort my list by nickname, but when i click on the menu -> ‘Opened chats’ they are listed by email or original name and not like the contact list with there nicknames.

  14. Thomas Martin
    May 28, 2010 at 11:33 pm

This is ridiculous. If your going to put advertisments in your app you could at least make a paid version if the app in the market.

    • June 6, 2010 at 9:42 pm

There is a donate version of MSN Talk. and it doesn’t have any advertisements in there.
      Thanks.

Id like to get the pro version too thru Paypal or Google Checkout. Im in Ecuador and I dont have paid apps on market aswell =/
Can i request a feature? can you change the bubble icon displayed on the notification bar when a contact writes me? .. its the same icon as Gtalk and confuses me.

Does either paid or free version support SOCKS 5?

    Thanks,

    • June 6, 2010 at 9:43 pm

Unfortunately, SOCKS 4/5 is not supported in both free/paid version of MSN Talk at the moment.
I need more research for supporting that. sorry again.

Since a lot of MSNTalk fans do not have access to the android market (including me) can you at least put the transfer files feature in the free app please? Because it is kind of a must! and we cannot buy your app 😦 I really am hoping that you would change your mind about this particular thing..

    • June 6, 2010 at 9:53 pm

      So sorry about that. 😥
I have a plan to build a site which can purchase via PayPal in July.

Let me think. How about limited feature of file transfer like..
      1. can send only pictures of your media gallery, and always be resized in 640×480.
      2. can received files which its filesize is under 300KB.

      Thanks.

        June 9, 2010 at 2:27 am

Its a good idea but the default camera is 5mp in almost every phone then u have to add a feature to reduce image size automatically .. if so i will be very thankful 😀 800×480 resolution would be great for portrait normal images 😀 .. thanks dev!! U’re the best!!!

I’ve solved my sign-in issues now. I found that MSN password max length is 16 characters , even thou you set 16+ long.
So if I may, I suggest that you add a function that only takes the first 16 chars of the password. Might be more people like me who has longer passwords without knowing it’s only the first 16 being used

Been a few upgrades lately (not that I mind) but now on 2.17 I can not login, MSN Talk starts and says SD-Card not found. But android shows SD card is in (total space 7.4GB available space 7.15GB) it used to work, but no more! Tried uninstall and re-install no luck! I’m using a HTC Desire

      • June 6, 2010 at 9:46 pm

I’ll add a patch for work well even MSN Talk’s data file was corrupted on further release.

Hi. I am using version 2.17 on mt3g fender running stock android 1.6. The logging feature is not working. It worked one day only, and hasn’t worked since. Also, the auto log in if disconnected while in background does not always work. I love this app and realy could use those things, especially the logging.
Thanks for doing a great job Dev!

    • July 3, 2010 at 1:07 pm

    Hello,
I want to report a bug (at least something that doesn’t work for me as it suppose to do)
When i’m on MSNTalk, with my status on online, no one in my contact list can see me online.
When someone does talk to me, then in the chat screen it says “offline mode” while my status is available/busy/away.

I love how it looks so far, but if you can look into this, it would be great!

wtf? keep it free your app is promising if u leave it that way otherwise it will be just another app think about it seriously (there’s already more feature rich free clients out there you can easely beat by just adding a few more features and small changes to yours)

PD if u r trying to make money I’m sure ull find a better way(google didn’t get to where it is by charging money to its users)

But I can never send a message to an offline contact, regardless of my status.

I love this app… layout is great. My only beef is that it seems to disconnect/reconnect every 5-15 minutes or so… Can’t see it on my end
but friends tell me that I am constantly logging in and out and it gets
annoying to them… Fix that and I’d gladly pay for a pro version of this
